ncc8

it's been 10years if i'm right since "kbu" time. yeah we did had alot of fun back then during our younger days :D. anyway here are some of the memories that i draw 'em the last time (10yrs ago) in kbu. mind u i wasn't a good cartoonist so some of the drawings a bit "cacat". if u ask me now to draw something i couldn't. my mind n my hands just won't click anymore. it's not what i used to be i would say a little skill in drawing. it's all gone! :P what i had now it's all memories. enjoy! :D

SRAM!

during the weekend got myself a little excited about some stuff i had bought over the last couple of months. upgrades for my wife t-blaze bike! woohoo! i luv my wife very much and i don't really want her to get frustrated using the standard SiS crap components. u know those unreliable shifting and making hell lots of sounds during shifting the gears.

anyway the list i bought over the past months was:
1) mavic x221 wheelset with deore hub
2) sram 9.0 esp rear derailleur
3) sram x.7 trigger shifter
4) deore xt front derailleur
5) deore 9 speed cassette
6) shimano hg-93 chain

didn't really put all the stuff into the t-blaze bike..hahaha..hey, my merida need some few stuff as well. :D

sram 9.0 esp rd with deore cassette n hg-93 chain

when you talk about sram derailleur's, ppl will say sram has the most accurate shifting then others like shimano for example. i found that is true enough, i hav a xt rd with xt trigger shifter on my merida and comparing with the t-blaze shifting i'll say the t-blaze scores better. the sram 9.0 esp already been 4 - 5 years old compare to my xt 2 years back. hmmm....

a closer look on the sram 9.0 esp (2002 - 03)

sram x.7 trigger shifter (2006)

the sram shifter pods are somewhat odd design then the shimano xt shifter. usually you'll get the push n pull trigger on your xt but sram did it other. push to shift up and push to shift down. most probably if i wreck my xt rear derailleur i might go for sram. i'll might get the x.7 shifter pods, they looks more cooler then the xt ones and the x.7 rear derailleur as my future upgrades.

Bagan Dato ride 2007

it was the 3rd day of chinese new year at my uncle place. where all my family was there celebrating cny. had a great time. the place was somewhere 6km to simpang and 23km to bagan dato town. quiet little place at my uncle house with all the oil palm trees surrounding and a main trunk road just in front to bagan dato town. begun my ride at 0700hrs using the main trunk road. it was a very long journey, all you could see in front is just a straight long road. no twist and turns, just one straight long long ride. was cruising around 24-30km/h, managed to do that kind of speed because the road was flat and there is not a single hill for you to climb.

right front is the river mouth

the jetty

gps said i'm at the right place

it was the longest ride i ever encountered. total time ride was 1hr 47mins and covers about 47km. it makes me wonder whether i can complete my 40km kl marathon run this year? haha..time will tell :D

Le Tour De Langkawi

was on my way to the office that sunday, massive traffic jam...took me an hour plus just to get into the office that sunday. all because of the "le tour de langkawi"....what i didn't know is that the route they are taking passes through my office, in front of it. quickly park my car and took a couple of snap shots. these riders are fast as they zoom pass ya, you can really feel the rush of wind blow to you.....i think they are doing about 45-55-km/h....

Kemensah WaterFall

took off from my house around 0645hrs, took the MRRII heading towards Zoo Negara. Batu Caves was jammed with cars and people. holysh*t is thaipusam...yeah forgotten about that celebration. got stuck 10mins just to squeeze through that area. Anyway the guys from "bicycle world" was kind enough to bring us there to the waterfall.

map to kemensah

is all jungle out there

nice flow of water

the water is cold

mtb mate looking for fishes

the ride to the waterfall was all uphill...uphill...uphill..uugghh! 6.8km on tarmac and 4km offroad to the fall. the trail condition was 90% dry and 10% wet which make our ride smoother. or else you'll get the wet and muddy condition which is un-rideable. the trail brings you up to about 600m above sea level. cool windy air and cloudy condition at some part. what can i say, it was a perfect ride to the waterfall! :D

Penang Jamboree Ride 2006

first of all i have to apologise for not displaying the jamboree event/ride pics. had no choice cause the camera was way to big to fit into my hydration bag. dun worry i'll try to blog my way about the event ere.

went to penang with my 2 mates which kindly enough to give me morale support and encouragement (ahem!). although they did not participate the event but hopefully enough to poison their mind next time to join me. muahahaha! anyway stop at tapah town and did lunch over there. food was great and cheeeeaaaapppppp!!!

shang yee pin

this definitely eel (wong sin)

rather not to say this

kai lan?

ahhua after some hrs sleeping in the car

ahlam yamseng!

err..it suppose to be a MTB event

the trip to penang frm kl took me about 7 hours, took a detour to sg.siput to look for my grandma who was sick. reach to penang around 2000hrs and head straight to youth park for the jamboree registration. after all that head down to tanjung bungah hotel and check-in around 2115hrs. went to gurney drive to "makan-makan" all kind of stuff. just to fill my stomach for the ride on sunday.

McDon...McTuckey?!

fried stuff

cost me RM9

the jamboree ride 2006 started around 0800hrs (sunday) at the youth park. as usual the starting line was jam pack with riders. so as usual stay back at the line and wait for everyone to flag off first. met a pcc rider there james bak and his wife christina was in the jamboree ride as well. had been a while did not contact them already. anyway back to the jamboree event, people started in high spirit riding from the youth park to "kek lok si". all tarmac ride about 8-10km. stage 1-2 was all uphill and downhill and uphill and downhill (phew!). but i do like the downhill at those stages and it was awesome. it was exhausting too and they (organiser) did not make it easy for us.

one of the hill for MTB trail

stage 3-4 was almost the same, uphill and downhill lots of mud at some places. so many tree roots and big rocks which makes even harder for the ride. did slip and fell down when i was trying to climb my way up the tree roots with my bike. don't know what hit me but i think it must be the exhausting part that struck me at that point and lost my balance. a knock on my right knee did a wake call, boy it hurts. luckly nothing damage took me a couple of mins to re-organise myself.

on the way to stage 5 coming down from the "switchback" trail was totally awesome! imagine ya going downhill at 30-35 km/h and nothing could stop you from coming down. all i got are my tired hands pressing the brakes. did spend around good 15-20mins there before heading towards the tarmac via route to the youth park for stage no 5. another monstrous hill to climb at the last checkpoint. but it was worth it and you couldn't imagine how it feels when you got your sticker no 5 "YES! I SURVIVED!"..woohoo!!

the KOTRT did a great job of organising such a big event and handle it pretty well. Kudos to them and appreciate their hard work to make this a successful event.

see you next year!

Passport

yeah..my very first international passport. i know there's nothing to shout about but it's my very 1st international passport :D. hahaha..anyway drove to the immigration dept in shah alam. reached there around 0915hrs. well, i know its quite late got lost around shah alam with my gf. i was having doubt that i would be able to or in time to apply a new passport. looking at the time it is quite late already and you know the long queues at the immigration dept.
went into the pkns shah alam building, took the waiting no # (2132) and the servicing no # now at 2066. yikes, another 60 over people have to wait. went nearby to have a quick breakfast (20mins) and came back to the immigration dept and service no # now at 2100! i was like "woohh" that was quick. when it was my turn paid my RM300 bucks to them and get my resit saying "collection date : in 3 working days". impressive. roxor for the malaysia immigration dept!
