during the weekend got myself a little excited about some stuff i had bought over the last couple of months. upgrades for my wife t-blaze bike! woohoo! i luv my wife very much and i don't really want her to get frustrated using the standard SiS crap components. u know those unreliable shifting and making hell lots of sounds during shifting the gears.
anyway the list i bought over the past months was:
1) mavic x221 wheelset with deore hub
2) sram 9.0 esp rear derailleur
3) sram x.7 trigger shifter
4) deore xt front derailleur
5) deore 9 speed cassette
6) shimano hg-93 chain
didn't really put all the stuff into the t-blaze bike..hahaha..hey, my merida need some few stuff as well. :D
sram 9.0 esp rd with deore cassette n hg-93 chain
when you talk about sram derailleur's, ppl will say sram has the most accurate shifting then others like shimano for example. i found that is true enough, i hav a xt rd with xt trigger shifter on my merida and comparing with the t-blaze shifting i'll say the t-blaze scores better. the sram 9.0 esp already been 4 - 5 years old compare to my xt 2 years back. hmmm....
a closer look on the sram 9.0 esp (2002 - 03)
sram x.7 trigger shifter (2006)
sram x.7 trigger shifter (2006)
the sram shifter pods are somewhat odd design then the shimano xt shifter. usually you'll get the push n pull trigger on your xt but sram did it other. push to shift up and push to shift down. most probably if i wreck my xt rear derailleur i might go for sram. i'll might get the x.7 shifter pods, they looks more cooler then the xt ones and the x.7 rear derailleur as my future upgrades.

Hi,
I wanna use RD + Shifter SRAM X.7/X.9 and use FD, Crankset, 9 speed cassette from Deore. Is it hard to implement?
Do you have any suggestion to combine between SRAM & Shimano. My riding type is XC/AM
Thank you ;)
