Teluk Intan "Chee Cheong Fun"

Had a wonderful eating weekend I would say. Went to Bagan Datoh estate to look for my grandma and uncle. Bagan Datoh is a small town with surrounding of oil palm plantation estate where my uncle is base there. Bagan Datoh is about 80km away to Lumut and 25km away to Teluk Intan. So basically geographically you know where is it..hehehe..

Anyway it was Saturday nite when we head to Teluk Intan to find the famous Chee Cheong Fun. My whole family knew about it but I don't. Ok drove up to Teluk Intan at nite (30mins drive) and reached there about 2130hrs. I was expecting a stall like Chee Cheong Fun back in KL/PJ. Well its not a stall but an old wooden house, I think it's been there during WWII time. I don't know but it's really old.

The place call "Liew Kee (Ah Lek) Chee Cheong Fun" in Teluk Intan. At first impression, what this old wooden house that sells Chee Cheong Fun so famous for? Whats so different then others like back in KL/PJ Chee Cheong Fun? Usually we eat Chee Cheong Fun with curry or sweet sauce right, but not this. This Liew Kee Ah Lek Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun is serve without curry or sweet sauce. Yeap it's true. You have to take it with those sour green chili where you normally eat it with "Wantan mee" one. All I can say is that this Chee Cheong Fun taste very different then the normal ones. Well it's worth the trip (about 30mins frm Bangan Datoh) to try out new things. Ohh yeah, they only serve takeaway only. It is packed with our tradisional newspaper wrapping (you can see the Worldcup results too if you missed it).
All in all Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun is great. For those who hasn't been there well it is worth it. The journey will be a long one if you are coming from Kuala Selangor (2hr 30mins).

FIRE!

Was an oridinary nite most ppl would be sleeping already or some ppl still awake watchin tv. Then suddenly , I was thinkin to myself did something feel from the sky? Then a moment later , ok this time there is something really wrong. Then not long a neighbour came out and shouting "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE!". Now thats explained the explosion just now.
Got up from my sofa and went out to see the fire. Is was no joke, the flames was like 2 story high and the draft was like sauna! I was standing 18 meters away from the flames imagine that! Then I started realising I'm still wearing my boxer..........in the public..........

I don't think no one notices that because they all are looking at the fire *Thank God!*. Quickly make a dash back to my house and changed to a proper clothing wear. When I went back to the scene the fire became more violent and starting burning some trees around it and also a TNB electric post was on fire!
The firemen came around 10-15mins time, reasonable amount of time? Anyway no one was hurt in the fire and luckly it is not a house thats on fire but a Recycle Center. It was a Rukun Tetangga (it's that how i spell it? Bad BM) before it became a Recycle Center about 10years ago.
BEST PLACE TO EAT....

Famous Hokkien Mee at Mei Yen
Here I am recommending people to eat some of the best Hokkien Mee. Personally I went there before many times. Usually what I order there are "Hokkien Mee,Fried Lala,Cantonese-Style Yin Yong". This are my personal choice over there.

Loong Foong Hong Kong Roast Duck
If you are an animal lover you going to love this one! HAHA! I'm sorry I know is a cruel joke but for those who love duck meat..hehehe..Never had tasted one like this so long. Well my grandma used to buy roast duck at Petaling Street, KL, but this one is awesome. Texture and taste combine with crispy skin this is a perfect Roast Duck. No words could explain anymore. Also not only duck they are serving but other dishes as well. They do have "Fish Head Noodle (Yee Tau Mai)" taste very nice. Also you can try their "Tai Chow" not bad as well.
