this my 2nd time i'm on this batu dam ride. we have "me0@tim and myaho2@andrew" both are quite an average ride. been describing how great was the trail was and both tim and andrew are itching to get there. glad they enjoy every moment of the trail and experience there! also, the "kelolo" team was there. at least we're not alone in that jungle trail. :D
started off around 0845hrs and completed around 1225hrs roughly. we did about 15km give and take according to myaho2. thanks to his faithful sigma cycle computer. thought of getting a compass before i hit the trail the day before, but didn't get one. the trail ain't that hard to go by anyway. even if we get lost, we'll just have to track back the trail. is more fun! :P the start of the trail are quite flat until you reach to the second river crossing. that's where the uphill begins...it's all uphill for there but it is ride able. not much of an extreme uphill though. the trail is just nice at the beginning...dry... :D
me0 n myaho2 hammering the trail
things gets a bit more wet when we are around 1/3 of the way. slippery rocks and mud at some part of the trail. more leeches attack! those sucker are a real sucker! anyway, leeches are the least we are worrying about. at some point of the trail, me0 lost this spectacles while he enjoying the dh section of the trail. he can't see without this specs. thankfully he found them after 5mins of searching the ground fully covered with dead leaves and falling branches around the area. worst some more he's specs frame are in black color. how nice it blends into the jungle surroundings.
me0 speeding away

it was exciting, fun, tiring (of course) and more exhaustion! haha.. well to be honest the whole ride was great. getting your butt up at 0430hrs preparing the stuff you wanna to bring . not that i didn't prepare anything the day before even though i should, but i was in kuala lipis that saturday nite so was kinda rushing back to pj.
anyway this year ride was the smoothest ride i ever had compared to last year. most of the trail are ride able and technical difficulties are on par with my skill (tak malu!). i'm not complaining! and for the pcc members they did a marvelous job handling this wonderful event of the year! thanks guys!

so, it's time to choose a date for the wedding...what is the good date for next year? probably is "080808"...bet thats a favourite for everyone. but we decided to find some advice from "loh ti pat"(correct spelling??). loh ti pat is a person name who calculates the "star, moon, sign, water/wind/fire elements...etc" for anyone who wants a good day to do some major events. such as opening for you new toilet room.. -_- ... also weddings which i am interested in.
surprisingly that guy did a good job explaining my sign n my wife sign what clashes with what. what can or can't do during the wedding day and many other stuff. so, when is my big day? figure this out, direct english translation from cantonese "everyday, everyday, fish, live". anything pops out from your head?

well, if you happens to pass by jalan semangat in pj definitely you will not miss the place. it is just opposite the old jaya or mcdonalds. for those whole had been living in pj a while i think you know where it is roughly. is not hard to find at all. anyway step 1 for a wedding is to get a restaurant for the dinner, that is the very most important thing to do (so it said frm my colleague). the hunting for the right food/ambiance or location is just fun to do with your partner :D. roxor! you're only get to do this once! just once! hahaha...

it reminds me of exhaustion, lung busting climbs and the agony of showering your whole body in the hot humid weather under the sun. not to mention it is a 60km offroad xc (cross country). why the heck did i do all this? i could had spend the whole sunday weekend at home sleeping or watch tv eating nacho's. well, not to those 650 men and women who did the presidential ride last year. it is one of the huge mtb event of the year in kajang/semenyih. i reckon this year it will be a bigger crowd. for the past few years pcc had been successfully organize the presidential ride with the increasing of mtbikers participating. i don't see why not this year they're going to break the 650.

yes, now the most talk about hill in TTDI (Tmn Tun) whether the DBKL wants to mow down the hill and convert it to a "tourist attraction park"? but they hit a snag cause a lot of people are actually against the decision. count me in! this hill already been under siege by development for new condos which is not necessary i would say. most of the development are done at sri hartamas area. woohoo! that's wawasan 2020 to flatten every flora and fauna for new housing development.
usually i do a lot of weekday ride over there after my work. is a short ride around 40mins including the tarmac climb from KLGCC entrance. the trail been are shared among not only mountain bikers but people who do trekking and horse riding.

started out with a good clear blue sky weather! what a day to ride i was thinking myself. everything seems to be so perfect today. not quite. well, nothing wrong with the hash actually, it just that i didn't bring my helmet for the hash. (bummer!)....it is quite embarrassing that everyone wears one and i don't.. :P what the heck, nothing will stop me for it!
my ride!
the hash starts exactly at 0900hrs which is good, no delays or whatsoever. met a few ppl and had some talks about the ride. this actually is my first hash, so most of the time i just follow the riders in front. the ride was covered with oil palms trees and thank god for that! we need the shades! the fast group went ahead and i had lost sight of them (damn!). but lucky there is a rider in front so most of the time i trail behind her. about 12km into the ride where we reach to a check point and suppose to find the next paper to lead us the right way. boy, we got stuck about 30-45mins just finding the paper. go around n round the checkpoint radius and some people are already getting frustrated.
a guy came to us at the checkpoint and ask us if we were carrying any antiseptic or iodine with us. he needed that to help out his friend who fell from his bike and had a very bad bruise on his ankle. all i have was some bandage and alcohol. went to his aid and clean his friend wound. from my experience, he felt the pain while i was applying alcohol into his wounds (ohh yeah, sure hurts like hell). due to his friend unable to continue they took the shortcut out. but things went into our way and someone finally found the papers! thank god! i taught we'll going to stuck at the checkpoint eternity...is "on,on!" shouted the guy and the whole bunch of us like 20-30 heads towards him (cavalry charge!).
from that moment on, things started to get smooth. we went all the trails without problem finding the papers and we know we are on the right track. nothing would stop us from completing the hash! but the hills are killing me! told my self "small hill, i can do it!"......15mins later....this is nuts! another hill?! *wtf*...the best part, if you push your bike it is harder then you cycle up. is the truth! anyway the last 5km was like uphill and downhill and uphill and downhill. finally when i saw some buildings right on my sight, a sign of relief that this is all over.
the kajang hash was not that difficult but due to myself lack of fitness you will had a hard time climbing the hills...but was glad that i completed the hash. it was a great experience and fun!

during the weekend got myself a little excited about some stuff i had bought over the last couple of months. upgrades for my wife t-blaze bike! woohoo! i luv my wife very much and i don't really want her to get frustrated using the standard SiS crap components. u know those unreliable shifting and making hell lots of sounds during shifting the gears.
anyway the list i bought over the past months was:
1) mavic x221 wheelset with deore hub
2) sram 9.0 esp rear derailleur
3) sram x.7 trigger shifter
4) deore xt front derailleur
5) deore 9 speed cassette
6) shimano hg-93 chain
didn't really put all the stuff into the t-blaze bike..hahaha..hey, my merida need some few stuff as well. :D

it was the 3rd day of chinese new year at my uncle place. where all my family was there celebrating cny. had a great time. the place was somewhere 6km to simpang and 23km to bagan dato town. quiet little place at my uncle house with all the oil palm trees surrounding and a main trunk road just in front to bagan dato town. begun my ride at 0700hrs using the main trunk road. it was a very long journey, all you could see in front is just a straight long road. no twist and turns, just one straight long long ride. was cruising around 24-30km/h, managed to do that kind of speed because the road was flat and there is not a single hill for you to climb.
