kajang hash july15th 2007
started out with a good clear blue sky
weather! what a day to ride i was thinking myself. everything seems to be so perfect today. not quite. well, nothing wrong with the hash actually, it just that i didn't bring my helmet for the hash. (bummer!)....it is quite
embarrassing that everyone wears one and i don't.. :P what the heck,
nothing will stop me for it!
pre-ride..i think that's boon foo's van
pre-ride briefing
count down to start
my ride!
the hash starts exactly at 0900hrs which is good, no delays or whatsoever. met a few ppl and had some talks about the ride. this actually is my first hash, so most of the time i just follow the riders in front. the ride was covered with oil palms trees and thank god for that! we need the shades! the fast group went ahead and i had lost sight of them (damn!). but lucky there is a rider in front so most of the time i trail behind her. about 12km into the ride where we reach to a check point and suppose to find the next paper to lead us the right way. boy, we got stuck about 30-45mins just finding the paper. go around n round the checkpoint radius and some people are already getting frustrated.
a guy came to us at the checkpoint and ask us if we were carrying any antiseptic or iodine with us. he needed that to help out his friend who fell from his bike and had a very bad bruise on his ankle. all i have was some bandage and alcohol. went to his aid and clean his friend wound. from my experience, he felt the pain while i was applying alcohol into his wounds (ohh yeah, sure hurts like hell). due to his friend unable to continue they took the shortcut out. but things went into our way and someone finally found the papers! thank god! i taught we'll going to stuck at the checkpoint eternity...is "on,on!" shouted the guy and the whole bunch of us like 20-30 heads towards him (cavalry charge!).
from that moment on, things started to get smooth. we went all the trails without problem finding the papers and we know we are on the right track. nothing would stop us from completing the hash! but the hills are killing me! told my self "small hill, i can do it!"......15mins later....this is nuts! another hill?! *wtf*...the best part, if you push your bike it is harder then you cycle up. is the truth! anyway the last 5km was like uphill and downhill and uphill and downhill. finally when i saw some buildings right on my sight, a sign of relief that this is all over.
the kajang hash was not that difficult but due to myself lack of fitness you will had a hard time climbing the hills...but was glad that i completed the hash. it was a great experience and fun!
