Teluk Intan "Chee Cheong Fun"
Had a wonderful eating weekend I would say. Went to Bagan Datoh estate to look for my grandma and uncle. Bagan Datoh is a small town with surrounding of oil palm plantation estate where my uncle is base there. Bagan Datoh is about 80km away to Lumut and 25km away to Teluk Intan. So basically geographically you know where is it..hehehe..
Anyway it was Saturday nite when we head to Teluk Intan to find the famous Chee Cheong Fun. My whole family knew about it but I don't. Ok drove up to Teluk Intan at nite (30mins drive) and reached there about 2130hrs. I was expecting a stall like Chee Cheong Fun back in KL/PJ. Well its not a stall but an old wooden house, I think it's been there during WWII time. I don't know but it's really old.
The place call "Liew Kee (Ah Lek) Chee Cheong Fun" in Teluk Intan. At first impression, what this old wooden house that sells Chee Cheong Fun so famous for? Whats so different then others like back in KL/PJ Chee Cheong Fun? Usually we eat Chee Cheong Fun with curry or sweet sauce right, but not this. This Liew Kee Ah Lek Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun is serve without curry or sweet sauce. Yeap it's true. You have to take it with those sour green chili where you normally eat it with "Wantan mee" one. All I can say is that this Chee Cheong Fun taste very different then the normal ones. Well it's worth the trip (about 30mins frm Bangan Datoh) to try out new things. Ohh yeah, they only serve takeaway only. It is packed with our tradisional newspaper wrapping (you can see the Worldcup results too if you missed it).
All in all Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun is great. For those who hasn't been there well it is worth it. The journey will be a long one if you are coming from Kuala Selangor (2hr 30mins).
