awesome clouds
took a random pic from my phone. the cloud captured my attention that
mother nature had created. i think it was about to rain or something
but it was a fantastic view from where i was looking at it.

my personal favorite is the "hor yip fan", it is very delicious and mouth watering. the glutinous rice was out of this world. the aroma and the stickyness of the rice was perfect. the rice wasn't too soft or hard either. each bite of the glutinous rice you got youself crave somemore. :P mebbe i'm just a "fan tong" that's why kao? haha.
house warming
it was a great turn out i would say. sorry about the little space in my house but thank you guys for coming in! :D preparation and cooking for the food was a real challenge. for those who brought the stuff to makan thank you guys! and for those who brought us the present, thank you also!

bhp run - 13th apr 2008
3am - rain like crazy...
4am - even more heavily...
5am - hmm...rain started to slow down to drizzle...
ahsiong cakap rendezvous in near fitness first at the curve. was at the curve around 0645hrs, looking around for fitness first. saw ahsiong with his orange running suit gear with gps on his belt and training watch? wah, so high tech! the run will be starting around 0730hrs so decided to do some warm up before the run in 10mins time. you can see people drag their asses out from this cooling weather which is nice to be in bed covering with your blanket with air cond blowing down. aih...
if not mistaken the run should be started exactly 0730hrs when the gun went off in the air. air was cooling that added an advantage to everyone i guess! so started off normal, sprint about 50meter just to get my legs to warmup. the women started 5mins after men, about 10mins into the run the 1st women went pass through me. she was wearing a cap and boy she could run! feeling a little embrassing (i guess alot men did that time) went up my pace a little.
dazed n confused!

into the hills i came! it was like dragging another extra 10kg each of your legs. i thought i will stop at some point. but my determination speaks for it self! do not stop! didn't took any water at the water station too (big mistake). it was crowded with ppl anyway and i do not want to stop either. after a successful climb and exit out to the ex-sony building heading towards 1u, saw jazzmint taking picture of the bhp run (thanx for the pic!). the last 2-3km was not easy for me, exhausted and feeling a little light headed. must be lack of liquid, walked about 5mins to rest then continued all the way to the finish line.
distance : 9.98km (according to ahsiong gps)
time started : 0730hrs
time ended : 0840hrs
total time taken : 70mins

upekka @ sec17/8
another place for ppl in pj to dine in this little humble restaurant at sec17. as we know sec17 is a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, preferred by any university students to stay there. i had stayed there for almost 3 decade for now. u can actually find your way in and out for food easily. no hassle. but for this case "upekka".

mainly there are quite a number of local dishes. but for a change you also get spaghetti and western delights. haven't tasted their western yet but i forsee it would be nice but nothing to shout about. pricing is quite reasonable as their customer mostly are from uni or college student. this is a place that you or your partner can sit down and relax. no rush hour timing, just enjoy the food and the chit chats.. :D

ipoh fellowship ride 2008
started off to the nkve highway around 1130hrs from damansara tol. traffic was ok and some parts of the highway are upgrading to 3 lanes road either ya coming down from south or heading north. exited through tapah and headed to kampar for some makan time! anyway, it's been raining since i got to ipoh with heavy downpour along the highway until i exited at ipoh selatan tol. gosh, this going be a fun ride for tommorow! check in the hotel and headed to jusco a couple of hours later to makan dinner. the place my wife and i went called "bamboo" something. couldn't remember the name but it is at the 1st floor heading towards the GSC cinema area.
sinchuan style noodle

well, flagoff around 0800hrs i think...riders are getting excited and eager to sprint out like they had never been ridden for years. the crowds was echoing with noises luckily we are way out of radius within the neighborhood. alas! we had a lift off...my riding mates sprinted fast ahead of me where i need to catch up upon them. it wasn't easy as i used to start slow and steady, sprinting ahead of others zooming past other riders was my very first time. adrenaline rush was all time high on that period of time.
there were hills after hills at stage 1, which i never anticipated during this ride. with the fitness level i am having those hills never been easy at all. by the time i was about to reach the first checkpoint i think i had drained out. should had save some of the adrenaline... :( pushing my bike uphill was a torturing event. but what goes up must come down! downhill was awesome and the snake like trail was totally mind blowing. that was the most enjoyable moment i ever had. by the time i had reached to the 2nd checkpoint, i was totally worn out. to add some salt on the wound, the 3rd checkpoint was entirely uphill for about 7km! ok, thats it for me! i'm done! took the chicken loop to the 4th checkpoint which some mild uphill and flats all the way back to the finish/start line. that took me around 1hr 45mins for some 15km. i know it's a long time but to tell you the truth, i was actually struggling back to the finish line. each of my every muscles in the body was calling out pain, exhaustion, dehydration (forgot to drink water) and my brain cells are not actually working properly.
looking back the trails and suffering i went thru this fellowship ride, it was all well worth it. or else it won't be called mountain biking for no reason..haha..organizer and the sponsors of this event did a wonderful job and did not let down anyone who participated this event. two thumbs up for the ipoh fellowship ride 2008! :D
